News: Rare Autographed DS Auction to Help Japan

A rare DS with autographs from many key Nintendo staff has been put up for auction to support the relief effort in Japan.

As Japan tries to rebuild after the 9.0 magnitude earthquake and tsunami it suffered from last week one gamer is auctioning his DS, which is signed by numerous Nintendo staff members. The console is the original DS model in red and has been in a glass case for the last four years to preserve the autographs that adorn it.

The autographs include Shigeru Miyamoto, Koji Kondo (composer), Charles Martinet (Mario voice actor), Eiji Aonuma (director of numerous Zelda titles) and Martin Leung (performer who tours with Video Games Live.

The seller has confirmed that he will ship the console internationally and that all profits will go directly to the Red Cross charity. At the time of writing the console is currently going for $1,225 and is due to end on March 21st.
