News: Rare To Develop For Nintendo DS

Breaking: Old Nintendo ally Rare is getting ready to unleash it's capabilities onto the Nintendo DS!

In a day that has been dominated with sad news, especially for our British readers, Cube-Europe can now confirm one story which is sure to excite Nintendo gamers.

Rare have today updated their website with job applications for game programers and "Experienced 3D Artists", both specifically for the DS. The job details in full are as follows:

GAMES PROGRAMMERS (NINTENDO DS)
Must be motivated, enthusiastic and skilled in C/C++ to join our dedicated handheld team, recently nominated for a Develop Industry Excellence Award. 3D skills also an advantage in creating high-profile titles for this unique system.

EXPERIENCED 3D ARTISTS (NINTENDO DS)
Good understanding of 3D packages (preferably Maya), strong modelling and texturing abilities, imagination and motivation are all required from anyone hoping to join our Develop award-nominated team in creating key DS titles.

Rare famously split from Nintendo, jumping ship to work as part of Microsoft Game Studios, developing titles for the Xbox and upcoming Xbox 360. Despite this, Rare have kept support going for the GBA - support which many in the past have speculated would expand to also cover the DS as well. This news seems confirmation of exactly that.
