News: Rayman Origins Heading to 3DS in March

The limbless hero gets his second 3DS outing at the end of this quarter...

French publisher Ubisoft has confirmed (via ONM) that Rayman Origins will see a 3DS release in Europe on March 16th.

The heavily stylised 2D platformer, developed by series creator Michel Ancel, released on Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3 late last year, after originally being conceived as a download-only release for HD platforms. Despite earning some incredibly warm praise for its presentation, the game performed rather tepidly over the Christmas period.

Rayman Origins will be the second game in the franchise to make an appearance on 3DS. Rayman 3D - a port of Rayman 2 - was a launch title for the system.
