News: Ready For Some G-Wii-se Lightning?

Hit the jump for even more shockingly bad puns related to the announcement of a new Wii/DS game based on the 70's musical hit Grease.

Here at the N-Europe towers, we've got chills. They're multiplying. In fact, we're starting to lose control too. Because the press release that 505 Games just supplied us with, was truly electrifying.

Zoe Mode, the developers behind the recent Xbox 360 camera-based romp You're In The Movies, will be working alongside publishers Paramount Digital Entertainment and 505 Games to bring a videogame based on the hit 70's musical Grease to both the Wii and DS.

The press release suggests that a microphone will be bundled with the Wii version, with Remote waggle-fests taking care of those dance grooves, whilst the DS version will be controlled exclusively with the touch screen. We imagine it will be a karaoke/dance-based package like Boogie (or indeed Zoe Mode's Disney's Sing It on the Wii), with 505 promising that we'll be able to "sing and dance alongside Danny, Sandy, The Pink Ladies, and the T-Birds".

"We are really excited about working with Paramount Digital Entertainment to turn this world famous film into a video game for the very first time. Working with such a well known and much loved brand is a great opportunity and we believe the collaboration further strengthens 505 Games' entertainment portfolio," says Ian Howe, Managing Director at 505 Games, clearly itching to belt out "Hopelessly Devoted To You" with a few friends.

Is this game the one that you want? Will the anticipation for it keep you up on these long, hot summer nights? Whilst the N-E team fights over who gets to review this certain gem, why not give us your thoughts on the currently vague first details in the comments below?
