News: Red Steel 2 Will Use Wii MotionPlus

Ubisoft's executive director talks about Red Steel 2.

It's been a while since we've heard anything about Red Steel 2. The sequel to Ubisoft's well-received launch title was due for a release in late 2007, but it seems to have slipped off the radar since last year - it wasn't even at Ubidays or E3. In an interview with gamesindustry.biz, Ubisoft's Alain Corre stated that Red Steel 2 has been in development for many months and it will make use of the recently announced Wii MotionPlus, to make sword movements more precise.

Talking about the first game, Corre says:

"The Red Steel brand is strong - I think we released it on year one, and that people understood that it was a first try on new technology, technology that wasn't completely finished." Considering the success and strength of the brand, he adds that "we now have to reach the top quality possible".
