News: Red Steel To Cost $12.75 Million

But all relatively cheap, compared to if the title had been developed for 360 or PS3...

Ubisoft's sword-slicing and bullet-firing launch title for the Wii Red Steel will apparently cost $12.75 million in total to develop, according to JeuxFrance.com. Additionally, the word is that the game will include approximately 13 hours of play time.

It might seem a lot of money for just 13 hours of gaming, however development costs for the Wii have been estimated at only a quarter to a half of that for the Xbox 360 or PS3 - meaning $24 - $48 million development costs instead.

We'll have more on Red Steel nearer to its release later this year.
