The Reggie will be on hand for the Wii's American launch at midnight in Times Square.

The Times Square, New York launch of the Wii is about to get wilder. Joining the festivities set to take place in front of Toys "R" Us starting 8 PM on the 18th of November, Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime will be handing out the first Wii console officially sold in the world to the first lucky gamer in line (who is likely already camping out there as I type.)

The celebration of this monumental console launch will be an event featuring musical entertainment and plenty of playable games set up outside the store. Three time zones later, a similar event is planned in Hollywood on Universal Citywalk, assuring that America will be partying with their precious new Wii(s) from coast-to-coast. The question is, will anyone actually stick around, seeing as they should be in a rush to get home and immerse themselves in Twilight Princess...
