News: Reggie On USA Wii Shortages

The Regginator crunches some numbers.

In an interview with Wired, Reggie Fils-Aime, NoA president, expressed his dissatisfaction with the North American Wii shortages, claiming that a Wii lasts an average of an hour on the shelves. Reggie also said that Nintendo of America does its best to remind the Japanese big bosses in charge of production numbers that these shortages are "missed opportunities".

Of the 1.8 million Wii consoles produced every month, 40% go to North America and according to Nintendo's giant (that's Reggie, not Doshin), the Americas are the only territory where you walk into a store and can't find a Wii on the shelves.

Will these shortages continue for much longer? Time will tell, and when it does, we'll be sure to tell you.
