Nintendo of America COO on the finality of Wii U's form factor, third party support and those E3 demos...
In an interview with VentureBeat, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime discussed all things concerning the newly unveiled Wii U console.
On the physical design of the console and the controller, Reggie stated that the model on show at E3 would be the near-final form factor. You can see some lovely high-res images of both here.
On third-party support, Reggie revealed the balance needed between getting the hardware into the hands of developers and keeping a lid on any possible leaks. Fils-Aime said that now was the right time to go public with Wii U to give third parties the time to create a strong range of games ready for the console's launch in 2012.
Finally, he reiterated that the several Wii U demos on offer during E3 - including a high-definition Zelda sequence - are not intended to become fully-fleshed Wii U games in the future. However, Reggie did not rule out the possibility of some of the "experiences" found in the demos finding their way into future titles.
