Nintendo's summer blockbuster ploughs past its first European milestone...

Nintendo has announced that European sales of Wii Sports Resort have surpassed one million units in a whisker over a month. The follow-up to Wii Sports - the system pack-in - has consistently remained at the top-end of the charts since its release back in July.

The same press release also reveals that stand-alone European sales of the Wii MotionPlus accessory is verging on the same figure, with 936,000 units sold to consumers. Combined with the million bundled in Resort sales and third party bundles (EA's Grand Slam Tennis and Tiger '10), it looks like Nintendo's new peripheral has gotten off to a magical start.
