News: Retro Studios' Mark Haigh-Hutchinson Dies

Retro Studios programmer Mark Haigh-Hutchinson passed away yesterday...

Mark Haigh-Hutchinson, 43 years old, passed away on the 15th after a battle against pancreatic cancer, leaving behind a wife and two daughters.

Mark Haigh-Hutchinson had a long career, having worked on Paperboy, Sam & Max, Star Wars: Dark Forces, Rebel Assault, Shadows of The Empire and Rogue Squadron among others, before joining Retro Studios right after it was created to become a senior engineer. He played an integral part in the development of Metroid Prime's camera system, a position he kept throughout the whole trilogy.

The videogame industry will miss his presence and the N-Europe team's feelings are with his family and friends.
