Nintendo confirms the extra 3DS thumb-stick with release alongside Resident Evil: Revelations...

The Circle Pad Pro - which appears to be Nintendo of Europe's final official name for the accessory - will release simultaneously with Resident Evil: Revelations, the first 3DS game to support the second stick.

Nintendo, who are acting as distributor of the game in Europe, will release Revelations in two versions: one being the standalone game and the other being a Circle Pad Pro bundle. The price range for the bundle was not divulged.

The Circle Pad Pro extension is not required to play Resident Evil: Revelations, or any currently announced 3DS titles. Nintendo is billing the Circle Pad Pro control scheme as a "traditional twin-stick shooter" set-up, with the single Circle Pad method "for more effective or expert play".

Resident Evil: Revelations will release in Europe on January 27th.
