News: 'Revived Interest' In Winter

The president of n-Space has some encouraging words for those wanting to see a return for the in-limbo horror title Winter.

Unveiled for the first time last month, Winter was a pet-project for Geist developer n-Space. After being rejected by several publishers for fears it wouldn't fit into the Wii marker, the game was put the backburner... until now?

After the big reveal, internet response for the horror project has been overwhelmingly positive, with praise for n-Space for delivering such potential being heard across several forums and campaigns. Some dedicated gamers even demanded certain publishes to pick the game up and restart development immediately. The president of n-Space, Dan O'Leary recently spoke to GoNintendo about interest in Winter since last month.

"The interest in and support of Winter has been amazing to witness. The whole thing has meant a lot to the team. The internet is so full of haters that it's really refreshing to see all the positive response and the petition is quite amazing in itself.
We have had some new and revived interest from publishers for the title, but it's not something we've aggressively pursued just yet. n-Space is currently in the midst of closing three titles - 7 skus plus localizations - so we're pretty swamped right now. We'll start some more aggressive follow-up in the near future. I suspect we will have some interesting conversations."

So it looks like the tale of Winter is not over yet. The primary petition powering the fan cause is still going strong, with almost 15,000 signatures being collected at the time of writing. If you haven't signed it yet, you can do so here.

Should we expect that this is not the last we'll hear of Winter? Let us know what you think about the game in the comments section.
