News: Revolution Launching Thanksgiving Week?

IGN's new Revolution section suggests the Revolution will launch stateside around the week of Thanksgiving 2006!

With the launch of IGN's Revolution portal, the folks there have been speculating on a more precise launch date for the Revolution than Nintendo's vague "2006". Despite originally stating the Revolution would launch alongside it's competitors, Nintendo now seems content to have the machine launch later, with execs instead saying the machine is positioned to a different market.

But how much later? It is generally excepted the machine will launch somewhere during the second half of the year after a full unveiling at May's E3 Conference in Los Angeles - which is also likely to be when we find out a final release date.

According to IGN however, developers have already been given a more narrowed time frame. "According to studios we spoke with under the condition of anonymity, Nintendo has told them that Revolution will debut in America 'during the week of Thanksgiving 2006.'"

Unfortunately this could mean that if Revolution launches in America in November, the projected 14 week span it will take to get Revolution launched worldwide could include the start of 2007 for Europe. More as we get it.
