Coming as absolutely zero suprise, it's good to have it confirmed anyway!

Nintendo president has confirmed to press that the upcoming Revolution console will be cheaper than Microsoft's new souped up Xbox console - the 360. It is expected, though unconfirmed, that Sony's Playstation 3 will be more expensive still, so Revolution looks to have a healthy lead in terms of who will be cheapest in price.

Whether that will attract more gamers to it is uncertain, though Nintendo has had a hit against the PSP with the DS - a cheaper priced but graphically inferior machine whose aim is to expand play experiences with different play mechanics - sound familiar?

Exactly how much cheaper the Revolution will be is unknown - and we don't expect final pricing to be announced before May's E3 conference. We'll keep you posted.
