News: Rock Band Shreds Europe September 25th

One year after its initial PS3 and 360 release in America, the Wii version of Rock Band is finally ready to rock in Europe.

European rock fans have had to wait quite a while to rock out to their favourite hits. Rock Band was initially released in America last November on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with a Wii release following in June. Microsoft's exclusivity deal with Harmonix and EA also ensured that the Wii and PS3 versions of Rock Band would be pushed even further back on the release schedules.

Never fear, for a retailer listing has revealed that EA will be releasing Rock Band for the Wii in Europe at long last on September 25th - mere months before the sequel is expected to hit our shores. The game will be available as a bundle (139.99) with drums (89.99), a microphone and a guitar (79.99), or as a stand-alone game (49.99) with instruments available for separate purchase.

Rock Band Song Pack Volume 1, a collection of songs available as downloadable content on the PS3 and 360 conveniently bundled on one disc, will also be available on the 25th for 29.99. The original game isn't required to play the Song Pack, though you will need to have access to the instruments.

Will you be giving Rock Band a purchase, or will you be waiting out for the release of Rock Band 2 and/or Guitar Hero World Tour later this year? Be sure to share your opinion in the comments below...
