The 3DS iteration of the smash theme-park management sim looks to have broken down on the track...
The last we heard of RollerCoaster Tycoon for 3DS, it had been cited for a vague "2012" release. Unfortunately, it looks like the publisher Atari may be holding off on releasing the game for undisclosed reasons.
The 3DS version is heavily based on previous entries of amusement park management simulator, and it is believed the game has been complete for some time. Whilst it was on-track for a release in March, Nintendo World Report is reporting an Atari rep has confirmed the game is "on hold".
RollerCoaster Tycoon 3D has been developed by n-Space, the US studio famous for games that vary from the Gamecube-exclusive FPS Geist to the cancelled Wii horror title Winter.
n-Space has another 3DS game in development in the form of Square-Enix's ambitious real-time RPG Heroes of Ruin. That game features drop-in/drop-out online co-op, and also utilises voice-chat, SpotPass and StreetPass.
