Luc Bernard has exclusively confirmed to N-Europe that The Rose Princess is currently in pre-production for WiiWare.
Speaking in the latest edition of the N-Europe Show (which will be released over the next few days), Luc Bernard (the developer of WiiWare title Eternity's Child) has confirmed that the Rose Princess is currently in pre-production.
The Rose Princess, for those who don't know, is a game which was revealed by Luc last year which stars a girl who kills anything she touches, and a failed mechanical rabbit named Mr. Cuddles who was rejected by its owner and turned to cross-dressing, prostitution, alcohol-dependency and drug-addiction. The game follows the duo's quest to find acceptance in a strange fictional world. In addition to confirming that this will be coming to WiiWare, Luc also expanded on the gameplay and storyline elements of the Rose Princess.
The title will be a 2D Castlevania-inspired adventure game with 8 different open-ended worlds and a 'Victorian Disney style'. The characters in the game are like the Looney Tunes gone bad, and the game will also feature pugs. Lots of pugs.
Luc also has a 2D animator on board who has worked on major films like Space Jam and Balto, and he stresses that the game should be movie quality. Luc also wants to add that he is looking for a publisher for the Rose Princess to support its development and ensure that it gets released.
In addition to this, Luc confirmed to us that the 3D Eternity's Child game which was planned for the DS has been cancelled.
Stick around to listen to the full podcast, which features discussion on Beyond Good and Evil 2, the quality of movie tie-ins, and a Q&A session with the man himself, Luc Bernard, in which he reveals a lot more about several of his projects.
