Some details about Climax's Runabout have finally emerged.

After being announced at the time the Nintendo 3DS was revealed Climax's revival of the Runabout series seemed to be at a standstill. However, they have just announced that the franchise is still on track to make a return after more than eight years.

Runabout is similar in many ways to EA's more well known Burnout: you drive around recklessly causing a lot of wreckage as you go. Players can choose from cars, tractors, motorbikes, buses and more, all of which are customisable, as they smash their way around town.

To add to that careless driving feeling Runabout will feature 24 songs to get you in the driving mood including Born to be Wild, Highway Star and Axel F. Runabout is due out on the Nintendo 3DS next year and Famitsu have the first screens of the game, including the piece of artwork featured in this article.
