Ryo Hazuki, from the beloved Shenmue game series, will be joining Sonic and friends in the upcoming racing title Sonic & SEGA All-Star Racing.

Since the untimely demise of the Dreamcast console fans of the Shenmue games have been longing for another title, while that is yet to happen they can soon play as Ryo in Sonic & SEGA All-Star Racing.

Sega have just announced this surprise addition today as Ryo joins already announced characters such as Sonic, AiAi, Dr. Eggman and many others. Ryo will drive a motorcycle, much like he does in Shenmue, in the game except for when he unleashes his All-Star move which will see him driving a forklift truck to bash his opponents.

The game is due out early next year but for now you can view the announcement trailer below.

Unfortunately I don't think this will help him find those sailors.
