The dynamic detective dog and rabbit duo will return to the Wii in 2009 with a retail compilation of all five episodes of Sam & Max Season 2.
Telltale Games, the current masters of the point-and-click genre on the Wii and PC, recently brought their most well-known and well-loved characters to the Wii with the launch of Sam & Max Season 1, a collection of six episodic detective adventures previously released on the PC.
Just under a week later, it's great to hear that Sam & Max's second run of episodes will also be coming to the Wii (and PC) in one retail package courtesy of publisher Atari. Sam, a rationally-thinking dog with big brains (and a gun), and Max, a self-proclaimed "hyperkinetic rabbity thing" with a taste for carnage and violence, will face five new and hilarious adventures with one overarching main storyline. Their journey will literally take them to the end of the world and beyond, with one particularly great highlight seeing them attempting to perform an exorcision on a certain Mr. Kringle...
Sam & Max Season 2 probably won't be greatly enhanced in any way other than with the addition of Wii Remote controls and fully translated French and German versions on the disk (with Spanish and Italian subtitles also available).
You can try out free demos of Season 2 on Telltale's online store. Sam & Max Season 2 will be released at some point in 2009.
