News: Sammy Show The Money

Sammy Corp, the company who oh-so-nearly merged with Sega earlier this year, have stated that they will be purchasing a huge stake in the company. More information is but a click away.

Sammy Corp, manufacturers of video game and pinball products, have stated that they will be investing a huge sum into Sega- one of the biggest video game software companies in the industry. The two companies were set to merge earlier this year, but talks broke down and the situation seemed to collapse. However, it seems Sammy are still interested in the video game giants, as they are buying $421 million worth of shares in the company. The stake, which is 22.4% of the company- looks like an attempt to revive the promising merger. Sega have previously mentioned that the two companies do have business plans, but failed to give us any more information. The company, behind classic titles such as Sonic and Crazy Taxi- have been very profitable this year, with all the big companies wanting to work with the hardware-turned-software kings.
