News: SD Memory Card Dated!

The SD Memory Card has finally been given a date, after being announced since the GameCube itself.

Nintendo's Japanese website has provided a release date for this accessory, it is July 18th. The adaptor however has been redesigned so the cards are inserted from the side, making it easier to remove them.

SD Memory Cards are only postage stamp sized and are often used in digital products such as Digital Cameras. They come in many sizes such as 16MB, 64MB and 128MB and can be found in many electronic stores. They vary in prices from around 20(30) up to 40(60) depending where you purchase the card from.

The GameCube has a limit on how many save files/blocks you can create and it is unknown whether this product will suffer from this at this time.

The SD Memory Card can be plugged into a PC allowing people to send game data to each other or download special events, possibly used in Phantasy Star Online. The first announced product will be Animal Crossing e+ which will allow users to email data to each other and also take pictures with their PC.
