Mario and Sonic team up once again for some good-natured sportsmanship...
Sega saves us from insanity with what seems to be the first official press release about something in days, and the news is nicely unsurprising.
Sega and Nintendo will once again be teaming up to release an officially endorsed Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games entry to celebrate the 2012 London Olympics, succinctly titled Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games. The game will be releasing on Wii and 3DS. Interestingly, no DS version has been announced.
More events than ever are promised, with football and equestrian making their first appearance on the Wii version. Brand new Dream events set in the Mario and Sonic universes have also been created. 20 well-known characters will be available to play as.
The Mario and Sonic Olympic Games franchise has sold over 19 million copies worldwide, having represented the 2008 Beijing games and the 2010 Winter Olympics.
A release date for Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games will be revealed later this year.
