News: Sega Europe VP Resigns

Shock news today as Mike Sherlock of Sega Europe resigns from his post.

After about a year at his post, Vice President Of Sales And Marketing for Sega Europe Mike Sherlock has resigned from his job in what insiders have called and "amicable" parting of ways.

Mr Sherlock is said to have gone to a senior postion within Acclaim. Mr Sherlock joins Rikiya Nakagawa who resigned from Sega without prior warning or notification in December.

What does this mean for Sega? It's difficult to say, the recent purchase of around a quarter of the firms' stock by Japanese arcade giant Sammy last year appears a thinly veiled attempt at a surreptitious takeover after the merger talks between the companies collapsed. Things are looking bleak for one of video games greats.

Hopefully this was all just a minor diagreement over biscuits served at the board meetings... I guess some people just don't like shortbread.
