News: Sega Sues Simpsons

The mother of the Megadrive and the Sire of Sonic, Sega, is to take Electronic Arts and Fox to court over what it sees as massive infringement of copyright and conceptual property. They want to stop sales of the game and arrange for back-dated profits to be handed over.
The game in question is "The Simpsons: Road Rage", which according to Sega is a straight rip-off of the company's "Crazy Taxi" franchise. The phrase "Well, duh" may well spring instantly to your lips, as it did indeed to mine.
But wait! Let's bear firmly in mind that "The Simpsons: Road Rage" was released over two years ago, so why has it taken so long for Sega to file the action?
Well, I have to admit, it's my fault, actually. I filed an action a year back against EA for making too many shoddy generic sequels to their games. It clogged up the courts for about a year. But then it got thrown out by the judge in London - apparently his daughter wanted the new Sims Add-on Pack and my case was delaying its release. So now Sega are free to have a go.
