News: Sega/Toshiba Deal

No, it's not another merger rumour...

Sega have announced today that they are working with Toshiba to create voice synthesiser technology for games.

The idea of the technology is to allow your voice to be included in games which could be implemented in various ways. This could lead video gaming in some very interesting directions in the future...

The first game to use the voice synthesisers is Derby Tsuku 3: Let's Make a Derby Stallion!, which is due out on the GameCube in Japan this autumn. This feature will be used in the game to announce the names that players give to their horses before the race.

As previously stated, this feature could be used in very interesting ways in many upcoming games...we shall have to wait and see.
