News: Sega VP Discusses the Wii

Alan Pritchard, marketing VP of Sega, has stated that the Wii is currently in a "strange place".

In a recent interview with Game Informer, as reported by CVG, marketing VP of Sega Alan Pritchard has commented that "the Wii as a platform is in a strange place".

While he does note that the Wii had three very successful years things have now changed and MadWorld's lacklustre sales is, in their eyes, evident of this, even suggesting that it would have been better suited for the Xbox 360 or PS3.

Mr. Pritchard noted that several years ago Nintendo wanted to make the Wii more popular with older audiences and that's why Sega made MadWorld, House of the Dead: OVERKILL and Conduit. Apparently Sega will now be more cautious about what they release on the Wii but did state that they have faith in Conduit 2.
