Although Silicon Knights have split from Nintendo as a second-party developer, it looks like Wii owners will still be able to feel some loving from the Eternal Darkness creators. A new "third-person action/psychological thriller" is in the works by the studio, as a prototype for The Ontario Media Development Corporation (OMDC).

The OMDC has invested $1 million for a game prototype from Silicon Knights, and also another from Digital Extremes, who are in turn creating a "third-person action game with an old-school horror theme."

The OMDC-funded Silicon Knights project is to be completed in 2010, for "all next-generation consoles", so it looks very likely Wii owners will get a look in on the creepy crazy action. Eternal Darkness 2, anyone?
