Treasure's arcade shooter has been confirmed for a 2009 release in North America, based on VC sales of the first game!

Nintendo have announced at their San Francisco Media Summit that Sin & Punishment 2 will be heading to North America in 2009.

Treasure's Wii arcade-like shooter is a sequel to the N64 gem which never left Japan until last year, when it surfaced on the Virtual Console around the world to critical acclaim. The decision to release the second game in North America is said to be a response to the strong sales of the Virtual Console release of Sin & Punishment.

This bodes well for a European release - stay tuned for definite confirmation in the near future.
