XSEED announces it's to bring the Wii flight-combat game to the US this year!

Despite being released to critical-acclaim in Japan back in October, Namco's The Sky Crawlers was met only with minimal commercial success in its homeland. Now though, US publisher XSEED has announced plans to release the title in North America at the end of 2009.

Officially titled The Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces, the game has been developed in-house at Namco by Project Aces - the same team responsible for the Ace Combat franchise. More so than that series, Sky Crawlers is all about the gritty, close-combat dogfights as you pip foes out of the sky with a tasty blend of sublime piloting skills and machine gun wrath.

No word on a European release yet, so here's hoping the game performs as well as it can Stateside.
