News: Skyward Sword Play Length Discussed

It's not all 3DS news today as Mr. Miyamoto indicates that The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword will take you some time to complete.

While Nintendo's conference today focused primarily on the Nintendo 3DS they did set aside some time for the Wii. Appearing on stage wielding a sword and shield Shigeru Miyamoto discussed the Zelda franchise as a whole and the upcoming, and highly anticipated, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.

Mr. Miyamoto spoke about the free download of Four Swords through the DSiWare service, which we also found out will be available this month in America, the orchestra tour that will hit London on October 25th, as well as other locations across the world, and shared some new information about Skyward Sword.

The Japanese release date has been confirmed as November 23rd, meaning another Zelda game will see a near-simultaneous worldwide release. The limited edition bundle, pictured above, will also be released in Japan. Fans will be pleased to hear that Shigeru Miyamoto noted that Skyward Sword would take between 50 to 100 hours to play, which while broad does give an indication of the length of the title.

According to Shigeru Miyamoto he has clocked in hundreds of hours on the game already and Skyward Sword has taken five years to complete and has had 100 people working on it during that time. The game is also set to have 100 minutes of cut scenes, indicating that there will be plenty of story to enjoy when it is released in November.
