The News Channel gets a couple of minor improvements, details inside.

Nintendo of Europe have alerted Wii owners this morning to a couple of minor additions to the Wii's News Channel - namely that it now features more stories than before as it sources more news agencies. There's also extra categories of news, including "offbeat" (which currently features, among other things, a story about Russian President Putin wanting to buy a sat-nav collar for his dog).

From having a quick root around, we can confirm that not much has changed - though now each and every news story is accompianed by a picture, which is nice. Especially if you want to see what President Putin's dog looks like.

This is not an update that needs to be downloaded - the new features have been implemented at Nintendo's end, rather than your own.
