Sonic & Knuckles hits the Virtual Console, along with a bevy of new downloadable WiiWare and DSiWare releases!
Welcome to N-Europe's round-up of everything new to download this Friday in Europe, with the week's downloadable selection headlined by the release of Sonic & Knuckles on Virtual Console...
Originally released back on the Mega Drive in 1994, the title features both playable characters pitted against Dr. Robotnik's evil plans. The game also features "Lock-On Technology", unlocking Knuckles as playable in your VC copies of Sonic 2 and 3 as well! Great stuff. Expect a full review in the next issue of Sam Gittin's VC Weekly.
On the WiiWare side of things, we have a healthy dose of new content this week, beginning with Frogger Returns from Konami. Classic gameplay is brought bang up to date with 3D visuals, new levels, enemies and power-ups, plus local multi-player. All for 500 Wii Points! Not bad.
Also on WiiWare is Overturn Mecha Wars from developers Gamebridge. It's a fighting game with customisable mechanoids where you must battle others to reign supreme. Special weapons, tournaments, Balance Board integration, plus local and online multiplayer make for a decent futuristic fighting package, all for 800 Wii Points.
Lastly on WiiWare, if you have My Zoo from Hudson already, new DLC out today allows you to purchase a cheetah for your zoo for just 100 Points!
Moving finally onto DSiWare, we have Let's Golf from Gameloft, which has previously seen release on iPhone and PSP. This version features 45 holes worth of gameplay with microphone support to add spin to your golf ball as you swing. Local multiplayer is also included. The cost is 800 Points.
Nintendo have released two new Electroplankton titles, both for 200 Points each: Rec-Rec, which unsurprisingly records four seconds of sound you create via the microphone and loops it, plus also Lumiloop, which creates unique sounds to make a harmony.
Finally, also available is Sudoku 4Pockets - for just 500 Points you get a whopping 3600 puzzles. Better than one of those cheap magazines you get a newsagents!
Which will you be downloading?
