N-Europe recently got to test out the upcoming Sonic RPG title for the DS, which is currently slated for a September release in Europe - pleasingly roughly in line with the rest of the world. The title sees Sonic and his party of familiar faces levelling up, equipping Chaos to help them in battle, and solving tactical puzzles in a quest to defeat the sinister new invading force - the Zoah.

With over twenty hours of gameplay promised, the title is set to be fairly expansive - with multiple worlds featuring new locales, and many familiar places (we let out an audible sigh of delight as we whizzed through the lush loops of Green Hill Zone once again, although this time in a completely new way...)

In general, it reminds us of the Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga or Partners in Time titles, which can only be a good thing. For full details, check out N-Europe's exclusive hands-on preview.
