News: Sonic Wii Dated For Europe

Sega have confirmed the final European release date for Sonic's big Medieval outing...

After a mish-mashed multi-platform, holiday-hitter in the form of Sonic Unleashed, the blue blur is back to burn up some... cobbles exclusively on Wii once more.

Sega have pinned the European release date for Sonic and the Black Knight down as March 13th. This is generously three days after the US release and the day after the Japanese.

Black Knight sees the Sonic Storybook Series continue on Wii, with this outing seeing our boy chasing a corrupt King Arthur through Medieval England. The eponymous hero will have - for the first time ever - a trusty blade to help him slice through swathes of enemies. Unfortunately, the game will not utilise Nintendo's Wii MotionPlus attatchment, which will ship with the still-undated Wii Sports: Resort.

As a final piece of useless trivia, Sonic and the Black Knight also sees Sega's first implementation of HDR lighting in a Wii game. Put that in your nerd-pipe and smoke it.

Are you hyped for The Black Knight, or has Sonic hurt you too many times in the past?

Thanks to Dante for the heads-up!
