News: Sony Losing Out To Nintendo

Sony may report it's biggest loss in 4 years on it's Playstation 3 console.

And the fanboys did rejoice... According to Bloomberg, Sony may be reporting a $630 million loss for the quarter largely due to the success of the Wii.

Market researcher NPD Group Inc. reported that Sony sold 501,000 PlayStation 3 consoles in the U.S from January to March, coming in 3rd behind Microsoft's 721,000 Xbox 360's and Nintendo's 1.03 million Wii's

Could the PS3 be Sony's Dreamcast, or is that just wishful thinking? Nintendo are expecting to sell 14 million Wii units this fiscal year, more than double the number sold the year it was introduced. It certainly doesn't look good for Sony right now.
