News: Sony VS Mario

In an attempt to draw the attention away from Mario, Sony will be spending 1 Billion yen in advertising.

As you will know, Super Mario Sunshine will be released at the end of this month in Japan. This game is the most-anticipated game in Japan, according to polls in Famitsu, and is expected to sell over one million units shortly after its release, and with this, more Gamecube consoles will be sold as well.

The GameCube isn't performing very well at the moment in japan, and that's a good thing for Sony. However, now that it's expected that many more GameCubes will be sold very soon, the company wants to do as much as possible to prevent people from buying a Cube.

I don't know if Sony even has a small chance, since Mario is extremely popular in Japan, and it will be hard for Sony to change that image.

I bet 1000 Dollars on Mario.
