Today very much feels like Metroid Day... While we earlier brought you some not so great news about the forthcoming Metroid Prime Trilogy, here's something that may spark some more eager interest in the collection.

Nintendo of Europe today sent out a promotional e-mail to any Club Nintendo member who has at some point registered a copy of either Metroid Prime, its sequel Echoes or its threequel Corruption. Anyone who falls under these circumstances will be in with a shot of receiving a free download ticket for the original Metroid on Virtual Console if they purchase and register Metroid Prime Trilogy upon its release.

The catch is there are only 5000 tickets up for grabs, so you if you want in on the offer, you may want to slam a pre-order down for Trilogy before its September 4th release. All you need to do come that date is register the game on the Club Nintendo website. Remember, the free download ticket will only be available to those who have previously registered a Prime game.
