News: Spy Hunter Goes To Hollywood

Midway revealed today that Universal Pictures have snapped up the license to develop a movie based on the hit series Spy Hunter, with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson being tipped for the lead role.

Spy Hunter will be present on a big screen near you soon, thanks to Universal Pictures, who have bought the rights to produce a movie based on the spy-themed game. The series has had 3 offspring, it all started in the 1980's with the best selling original, and a remake was released last year with another sequel set to ship on all consoles this autumn.

Universal are hoping WWE Superstar Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will take the lead role of Alec Sects, the man behind the wheel of the gadget-filled car, famed by the series. The movie will be written by Michael Brandt and Derek Hass, who recently wrote the script for 2 Fast 2 Furious, the sequel to the hit blockbuster Fast and the Furious, and will be produced by Chuck Gordon and Adrian Askarieh. We will have more info on this when we get it.
