Lara Croft has been bought! Troubled British developers Eidos are saved by Square-Enix...

Eidos have been in financial difficulties for a while - but news from MCV today is that the rumoured buy-out of the developer by Japanese outfit Square-Enix is going ahead.

Eidos have been looking for a buyer for a year now, while Square-Enix has been looking to invest more in Western titles. With Lara Croft's ample figure under its belt, Square-Enix may have found its perfect match.

The take-over will apparently happen in May, with share-holder approval expected in the next month.
