News: Square Enix Looking at DQX Wii U Options

Square Enix CEO says the publisher must consider adding Wii U features for the Nintendo-exclusive Dragon Quest X...

While Dragon Quest X continues its secretive development for Wii, the encroaching elephant in the room is the fast-approaching successor to Nintendo's little white box.

While Dragon Quest supremo Yuji Horii confirmed not too long ago that the RPG was still in development for Wii, Square Enix's CEO Yoichi Wada was recently asked in a shareholder meeting about the logic of releasing the game on a system whose successor is so close. While Wada did not confirm anything, he stated that the company must at least consider making Dragon Quest X support the Wii U system in some way.

It should be noted that Wada was not talking about releasing a separate Wii U version of Dragon Quest X. But it's also true that the Wii is backwards compatible with all Wii games by default. What Square Enix seem to be doing is investigating if they can add any enhancements to the game for when it is played on a Wii U, much like Pokémon Black & White had DSi-specific game features.

What kind of Wii U enhancements would you like to see for Dragon Quest X?
