Square Enix say that they are hoping to increase their sales by double in the next 3-4 years.

They plan to achieve this by reinforcing franchises such as Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest, as well as the growing popularity of online play.

In an interview the company's president, Yoichi Wada, claimed that any losses will be off-set in the future due to the opening of their online division a lot earlier than their competitors.

"Taking games online is not easy," Wada said. "We want to build on our experiences up until now and establish a bigger presence online."
