The force is strong with this Shop Channel update... Nintendo and LucasArts team up to bring the biggest sci-fi franchise ever to Virtual Console!

American Wii owners who fire up the Shop Channel will today be greeted with the first of a wave of memorable Star Wars games to hit Virtual Console. The SNES classic Super Star Wars is part of this week's update, and Nintendo promises more to come.

The coming weeks will also see the SNES Super Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Super Star Wars: Return of the Jedi become available to millions of Wii owners, for the low, low price of 800 points each. LucasArts promises that even more of their classic titles will be added to the service in future, leaving us eagerly awaiting Star Wars: Rogue Squadron amongst others.
