News: Super Mario 3D Land's Famitsu Score

Super Mario 3D Land receives its review score from respected magazine Famitsu.

Japanese magazine Famitsu is one of the most respected publications within the industry and their reviews usually provide an initial insight into how well a game will be received in general. In their newest issue Super Mario 3D Land, the first Mario title for the Nintendo 3DS, is reviewed.

For those unfamiliar with Famitsu the magazine has four individuals score the game out of 10, and then give the game an accumulated total out of 40. They are known to have high expectations and in their history have only ever handed out a few 40s, with Nintendo titles such as The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time receiving that honour.

The return of Mario scored favourably in Famitsu. Andriasang report that the game scored 38 out of 40, consisting of the following scores: 9, 9, 10, 10. This score even beat beloved PS3 franchise Uncharted 3, which scored a total of 36 in the same issue.

Fans will be able to pick up Super Mario 3D Land alongside the newly announced Ice White Nintendo 3DS in a special bundle pack, as announced yesterday.
