News: Super Mario Club Christmas Special

Japan's Super Mario Club TV show is airing a one-off episode on Christmas Day to honour the plumber's 25th birthday.

Tokyo TV originally ran Super Mario Club betwen 1990 and 2001 and changed its name a few times along the way. In honour of Mario's 25th anniversary the network is to air a one-off special on Christmas Day. The show's original presenters, Noriko Kato and Tooru Watanabe, will be back and will welcome a bunch of special guests for the episode according to Andriasang.

The show is described as a Mario themed variety show in which games and quizzes test participants' knowledge about the popular plumber. The one-off episode will be called "Fukkatsu! Super Mario Club." ("fukkatsu!" meaning 'revival') and will also feature video clips from and comments about the original show. A commercial from the original show can be found below. Sugoi!
