News has reached us from Eurogamer that the uber-game Super Mario World, one of the titans of two-dimensional platforming, has been made available Stateside on the Virtual Console. The SNES launch title is surely one of Nintendo's all-time greats (managing a reputable 13th spot in our Top 50 Nintendo Games countdown last year), and so will hopefully be arriving on our European shores soon. The other US titles made available are Vigilante, originally released on the TurboGrafx-16, and Gain Ground, from the Genesis.

Oh Nintendo, why won't you just give us a Virtual Console release schedule?
