Is Take Two's reputation coming before them? Head inside for more.
If there is one publisher who likes to cause a stir in the videogaming world, that would undoubtebly be Take Two. The publisher, responsible for titles such as the Grand Theft Auto series and the recent Bully (that's Canis Canem Edit to me and you) are not one to shy away from controvesy, with violent and provocative content featuring in a large number of their games.
Their recent title Manhunt 2 was in the press this week, having being banned in the UK and given an Adult Only rating in America, due to the "unremitting bleakness and callousness of tone" of the content on offer. The first Manhunt was hardly a family-friendly title, we can all admit to that, but Nollenberger Capital Partners' Todd Greenwald believes that Take Two are being judged and punished on their past:
"It does seem that Take Two is being a little bit unfairly singled out... because of their history of provocative games," commented Greenwald.
"They're being burned by their past, " he added.
Are Take Two being pre-judged on their past? We'll leave that for you all to decide. Drop us a comment below to tell us what you all think.
