The mad mini-game stuffed title Tamagotchi: Connection Corner Shop has sold over one million units in Japan - making it the first third-party DS game to do so!

Following in the footsteps of first-party DS titles Animal Crossing: Wild World and the two Brain Training titles, Tamagotchi: Connection Corner Shop has now sold over one million units in Japan. The game is the first third-party title to reach this achievement, and was only launched mid-way through September last year.

In the game, the object is to open a store with your pet Tamagotchi. There are several different Tamagotchi types to choose from, as well as various shops you can open, be it a bakery or a dentists. Take, for example, the dentists - you will have to accept patients, find out their troubles and then, by use of the touch-screen, perform surgery on them! Do a good job and your patients will pay you lots of money, which you can then use to upgrade your shop.

The game is coming to America this year, and though there has been no word on an European release as yet, we suspect we may hear something soon.
