News: Tecmo Koei Aiming for Wii 2 Launch Titles

The company behind Dead or Alive: Dimensions and Samurai Warriors Chronicles is hoping to release some launch titles for the Wii's successor.

In their annual earnings report Tecmo Koei has spoken about plans for the future. While the company's sales fell 7% in the last year their operating profit rose 415.5%. One of its biggest selling titles of the year was Samurai Warriors Chronicle on the 3DS, and Temco Koei has noticed this.

Andriasang report that the company's CEO, Yoichi Erikawa, addressed the growth that the recently launched 3DS has brought. After two years of falling sales Temco Koei has enjoyed a more successful year and they are looking to create new software titles based on their numbered series, such as Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors although no titles have been confirmed at this moment.

Mr. Eirkawa noted that Temco Koei is always trusted by hardware developers as a third party company that will have a title ready for launch and they are hoping to do the same for the Wii's successor. The hardware will officially be unveiled at next month's E3 and we'll have to wait and see if any Tecmo Koei games are announced alongside it.
